What information does Found Goods collect?
Found Goods has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or phone number. The app uses the following:

  • Approximate location (optional). If you choose “Use my current location,” the app reads your approximate location on your device to work out your state or province. Your phone’s own location service (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone) does that lookup, and we never receive your location or store it. Only the resulting state is saved, on your phone. You can also pick a state by hand, or clear it at any time.
  • Search words. As you type in the search box, the words are sent to our database provider (Supabase) to return suggestions and results. We do not link them to you or build a history of them.
  • Saved listings. Your saved listings are stored on your phone only. When you open the Saved screen, the ids of those listings are sent to our database to load their details. They are not linked to you.
  • Standard technical data. Like any app that loads content from the internet, requests to our database provider and to the businesses’ own sites and image hosts include your IP address and device type.

How is my information used?
We use it to show you listings, search results and the businesses near you, and to keep the app working.

Does Found Goods sell personal information?
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service provider that hosts our listings (Supabase).

Can I request information removal?
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.

How long is information retained?
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described, legal obligations, safety, dispute resolution, and legitimate business needs.

Is Found Goods for children?
Found Goods is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn a child under 13 has provided us information, we will delete it.

Does Found Goods use affiliate links?
Some links on Found Goods may be affiliate links. See our full Affiliate Disclosure for details on how that works and how it does not affect what we feature.

What about links to other websites?
Found Goods links out to independent businesses, farms, and creators. Once you leave our app, their own privacy practices apply. We do not control and are not responsible for how those sites handle your information.

What tools does Found Goods use to collect information?
Found Goods uses Supabase to host its listings. At launch the app contains no advertising or analytics software. The app loads its typefaces from Google Fonts on first launch, which sends your IP address to Google. If we add analytics or affiliate tracking later, we will update this page and our app store data disclosures first.

How do you protect my information?
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

What rights do California residents have?
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
